The Story So Far...

My name is Simeon and I am an American attorney who, after a particularly difficult personal year, decided to take some time off and travel. I started off in Thailand, and stopped at a lovely little guest house on the Thai/Laos border. One thing led to another and I wound up with a job there, and then falling in love with Petra, my German co-worker -- an amazing woman who had been traveling on her own for at least a decade. My plans and life outlook changed dramatically, and now the two of us have been traveling together for the past three years. After leaving Thailand, we did another four months in southeast Asia, then a year and a half in Europe, then another year back in Thailand. As this blog starts, we're just finishing up three months in the US where I introduced Petra to my family for the holidays. Now we are planning on heading to Mexico and points south, and for really the first time will be traveling somewhere that neither one of us have been before. The adventure continues...!
